Pet Food Express Adoption Fair

We're headed to Citrus Heights this Saturday, September 28th, to hang out with our friends at Pet Food Express for their in-person Adoption Fair, which complements the Virtual Pet Fair being held the entire month of September. Meet our adoptable pups and learn more about our rescue, adoption process, and volunteer opportunities. We can't wait to see you and share our love of shepherds!

We are grateful for all of the support we and other rescue groups receive from @petfoodexpress!

When you adopt a pet from rescue, you save two lives: your newly adopted pet and another one that can leave the shelter for the safety of a foster home that your adoption opened up.

When you adopt from a Pet Food Express partner (that's us!), Pet Food Express donates up to $20 to help another needy shepherd. Adopters get a 20% off coupon and an extra $10 gift from Pet Food Express. Find all the details at www.petfood.express/petfair and meet our adoptable shepherds at www.shepheroes.org.

Big Day of Giving

to May 5

Big Day of Giving

mark your calendars + make a difference.

Since our inception in 2018, we’d been anxiously awaiting the opportunity to participate in Big Day of Giving. Our debut last year exceeded our hopes and filled our hearts - we surpassed our goal of 10K thanks to your love and support! With our second opportunity just two weeks away, we’re anxious for the chance to do big things again. We’ve got our sights set and our goals high for May 5th!

Over the past four years, our dedicated team of volunteers has worked tirelessly to save as many shepherds as possible. Your support has enabled us to save 237 to date…that’s 83 additional lives since last year’s Big Day of Giving! We’re really proud of the work we do, and know we cannot do it without each of you.

With your help, we hope to raise another 10K on Big Day. Is that a big goal for a little rescue? Maybe. But we have a lot of heart, a lot of determination, and a lot of dogs that need us! The challenges that all rescues faced due to the pandemic are far from gone, and we still struggle to find low-cost resources. We spent over 32K last year alone, and are already at expenses totaling 18K in 2022. Our partner shelters continue to be brimming with those that are abandoned and our partner rescues are regularly calling on us for collaborative efforts.

Beginning APRIL 21st, you can preschedule your donation to ShepHeroes HERE. Your continued support will give second chances to shepherds who need life-saving care to heal from abuse, abandonment, and neglect; you’ll enable us to say “yes” when they need us the most. Please consider a financial contribution on Big Day of Giving to help us continue saving as many shepherds as we can. Thanks to a generous donor, the first $1,000 raised will be matched dollar for dollar - donate now to make your dollars go further!

We hope you’ll mark your calendars for May 5th, help spread the word, and cheer us on through the day! As always, thank you for your endless support. We’re doing heroic work together and grateful you’re in our corner.

With much gratitude,
ShepHeroes Board Members
