Have you heard? Our adoptable pups are hitting the town this Saturday, April 20th! If you’re looking for puppy kisses, our booth at Sacramento SPCA’s Doggy Dash is the place to be. We’ll be attending with dog trainers, pet stores, vets and many dog related vendors alongside food trucks and a beer garden from 8:30 am to 1 pm PST (that’s puppy standard time). Since our little ones tire out, we’ll have our adoptable puppies attend in shifts.

Join Jouska, Bean, Gus Gus, Archie, Puck, and ambassadogs saying hello as they bring our volunteers out for socialization and snuggles. While our fur babes will be strutting their stuff in hopes of making #furever matches, our humans will be on hand to talk all things adoption and volunteering. We cannot WAIT to see you, Sacramento!

Please note that our pups will be arriving at different times, we expect Archie to arrive ~ 10 am, Augustus at ~ 9 am, Bean by 8:30 am, Jouska at ~ 9:30 am, and Puck at ~ 10 am. Gus Gus will be leaving ~ 11 am.

Join us at Paws N’ Play Canine Community Center’s Celebration of All Things Dog on the 7th of April.

We’ll have adoptable puppies to round out the vendors offering curated selection of goods and meet a variety of other dog service providers. Plus you’ll learn all about the fun activities, training and rental of space for play (think of it as an indoor sniff spot) all located in River Park.

Terra Ruiz of Wholistic Canine has created a wonderful space for dogs to thrive in addition to the schedule various classes you can participate with your dog.

The event is scheduled for 11 am to 6 pm, but our adoptable puppies will tire out so we expect to be there from 11 am to 2 pm.

We are expecting Daphne, Lilith, Sheba, Toby and potentially a couple more of our adoptable dogs to attend the Animal Care Faire on Saturday. Our final lineup will be available further down the week. Stay tuned.

Bring your friends and family to explore pet-related booths, support us and many other local 501c3 animal rescues and shelters, stock up on goodies from small businesses and makers, savor delicious treats from food trucks, and try your luck at our raffles. Dogs on leash (6’ or shorter) are welcome.

The Sunnyvale Pet Parade is a beloved tradition in the community, drawing pet enthusiasts, families, and pet-related businesses from all around. And we’re excited to return to the Parade to showcase our adoptable shepherds and meet folks who love our favorite breed.

We are excited to head to Pet Food Express Roseville on September 24th, celebrating the 13th Annual Pet Food Express Pet Fair, a fabulous outreach event. We would love your helping hands to share our love shepherds, keep our adoptable puppies entertained, sell our merchandise to raise funds, assist with our Throw Me a Bone game, and showcase our alumni shepherds. We are grateful for your help in continuing to help deserving at-risk shepherds..

Coming to meet our adoptable dogs; welcome! We expect Kooper and Cap to attend for snuggles and kisses, and we are working on logistics for Daisie and Daphne to also attend. Dulce, aka Piper, is transitioning foster homes this weekend, and we’d like for her to get settled.

We’re excited to return to Bark in the Park San Jose, especially since it’s their 25th anniversary of supporting animal welfare and providing a terrific outreach event for our rescue.

We've all been patiently waiting over the past two years while concerns for the health and safety of humans, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, led to Bark’s back-to-back cancellation. Now we’re raring to once again “Bark in the Park!”

When Girl Scout Troop 3191 invited us to join them in their Bronze Project to increase pet adoptions, we had to say YES especially since it’s also Best Friends Adoption weekend. Please join us from 11 am to 2 pm at Carmichael Park to learn more about our adoptable German Shepherd Dogs and opportunities to lend a hand to shepherds in need a helping hand.

We will be located near the playground and dog park, just down from the farmer’s market.

Our line-up of adoptable dogs attending will be published a few days prior to the event.

Come see us at Pet Food Express Sacramento, located at Loehman’s Plaza, on Sunday, May 15th, from 1 - 3 pm. We’d love to share our mutual love of shepherds, have you meet our dogs, and see how you can be part of the solution to the unimaginable number of shepherds in our local shelters needing our help.

We’ll be hosting our adoptable shepherds and volunteers to introduce our process and opportunities to lend a hand in our quest to be a solution to abandoned shepherds.

San Jose is not your gig then head to our Adoption Day in Sacramento at Petsmart Delta Shores from 11 am to 2 pm.

ShepHeroes is holding a fundraiser to ease the struggle of capturing just the perfect holiday photo of your pet(s) or a family photo with your pet(s). Santa is coming to town in collaboration with PetSmart on Coleman Avenue in San Jose on December 8th. We’ll have elves ready to help out, props for pets and hoomans to add a dash of fun.

Bring your pets, favorite props and camera/cell phone. If you’d like the photos taken with your cell phone for immediate access to your photos, we’re happy to do so. Otherwise, we will send a link to your email address for downloadable pictures.

May we suggest a minimum donation of $10 for photos taken with your cell phone and $25 otherwise. We allocate approx. 10 minutes for each shoot. If you have multiple pets or would like multiple poses, please consider donating at $25 level due to the time commitment. We welcome reservations through the Event Brite URL below and donations in person. We welcome additional donations in the spirit of the Holidays and walk-ins!!!

Grab a cup of coffee and wander over to meet our pups who are looking for furever families in time for the Holidays.
