Foster Home Process and Requirements

We are a foster based rescue, as fosters your observations and knowledge of your foster dog is essential to successful adoptions!

FOSTER HOME REQUIREMENTS AND APPLICATION

Review our Requirements Please review our Foster Home Requirements to ensure your situation meets our guidelines. You must meet the requirements listed to proceed with the Foster Home Application. We regret that some good homes may be passed up because of these requirements, but we feel that this policy is best for everybody involved to take the dog and family’s safety into account.

Foster Home APplication

Complete the Foster Home Application Once you have completed and submitted the Foster Home Application, we will review it, and follow up with you on any questions. If we do not have any questions, we will forward you our Orientation Packet for review.

ORIENTATION PACKET

Review our Orientation Packet Our Orientation Packet consists of Foster Agreement and Manual providing guidelines and helpful hints when fostering one of our dogs. This prepares you on what we need from our foster homes, and to make sure that you are in agreement with our guidelines and policies.

Foster HOme Visit

Foster Home Visit If there are no follow up questions and all the references are verified, we will contact you to setup a Foster Home Visit. For the home visit, we will tour your yard and home, meet your pets, and sit down with all the residents in the home to ask and answer questions, and review our Fostering Program. If all goes well on the home visit, we will notify you that you have been approved within a couple days! Please remember that we are all volunteers, most of whom work full-time day jobs, have our own dogs and families, and are volunteering out of a desire to save the lives of German Shepherds. We appreciate your patience while we work through the Foster Home process with you!
